The Kima Woman Project:16 Northern Women, 16 Northern Stories Honoring Remarkable Women
The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is a global campaign that calls for the elimination of violence against women and girls. Observed annually from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10 (Human Rights Day), the campaign emphasizes the urgent need for collective action to protect women’s rights and end all forms of gender-based violence.
In line with the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, we proudly launched The Kima Woman Project to celebrate 16 remarkable women from Northern Nigeria. These women have demonstrated exceptional courage and resilience, breaking societal norms and driving transformative change in their communities.
Through their stories, we are reminded of the power of determination and the impact one individual can make in creating safer, more equitable communities.

International Observances: Raising Awareness and Advocating for Change
On Universal Children’s Day, we took the opportunity to shed light on the devastating impact of gender-based violence (GBV) on children. The statistics are alarming:

These realities are deeply troubling, but they only strengthen our resolve to create safe spaces for every child. We continue to advocate for stronger protection measures and work toward a future where all children are safeguarded from violence and harm.
Let’s join forces to ensure every child can grow up in a safe, nurturing environment.

SRHR Word of the Week
In our ongoing commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of key SRHR concepts, we spotlighted “Empowerment and Inclusion” as part of our “SRHR Word of the Week” series. These terms are foundational to advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Empowerment highlights the importance of individuals making informed decisions about their health, while Inclusion ensures equal access to services for all.
These values continue to guide our efforts in creating a more equitable and accessible environment for everyone.
